The best roads encountered were over the Capital Highway from Savannah to Pinehurst, and he predicts great popular ity for this route when the direct strip between Richmond and Washington is complete. " The Capital Highway leads to the points the northern tourist desires to visit." he asserts, "and until it is opened it will not be easy to interest northerners in winter touring." Mr. Cobb, last year; toured 28,000 miles and this year expects to exceed the sum by several thousand. He plans to reach home on Christmas day, stopping at Raleigh, Richmond, Washington, Philadelpiha, New York, Boston and Portland on the way northward. Note Mr. Cobb will undoubtedly find ever owned and in the pink of condition. I anticipate that we shall even surpass last season's remarkable record." The Arts and Crafts Shop Under the new management of D. Wade Stevick of Columbus the Arts and Crafts Shop promises to be more inter esting than ever before. Many novelties have been added and the attractions will include exhibition work in the various crafts. Popcorn, "crackerjack" (brittle) and home made candies are features. V. S. . A. Leaving on December 4th, they are proceeding northward over the Capital Highway, spending a day here in an interested inspection of the Village. The register shows the distance from Rockland to Savannah, to be approxi mately 1660 miles; the 2200 mile-mark being reached when they arrived at Pine hurst, with about 1100 more miles before them on the homeward journey. Mr. Cobb says the National Highway is far from complete and following the Glidden tourists as he did, he got the very worst of conditions. Fox Hunting: Plans - M. F. H., James T. T witty of the Pine hurst Hunt, arrived yesterday and the fox hunting season opens up with his coming. For over a month past Mr. and Mrs. Twitty have been at training quar ters in Warrenton, N. C, enjoying sev eral preliminary hunts with success.
